Egypt assistant coach: Contacting foreign-based players for Brazil friendly is not a call-up
General trainer insists Egypt squad won't be finalised until after day six of the league season

Egypt's assistant coach Dia'a El-Sayed has revealed the Pharaohs' squad to meet Brazil in a friendly on 14 November is yet to be finalised.
“The final squad won't be ready until after day six of the Egyptian Premier League,” the former youth team manager told Ahram Online.
The new technical staff, under the helm of American coach Bob Bradley, is currently monitoring domestic competitions to select players for the national team.
El-Sayed announced earlier that the technical staff had contacted four Egyptians who play abroad: Borussia Dortmund's striker Mohamed Zidan, Sunderland's winger Ahmed Elmohamady, Merriekh's keeper Essam El-Hadary and Lierse's striker Mohamed Elgabas, for the Brazil game, but he denied this was an official call-up.
“Yes, we contacted the foreign-based players and their clubs to inform them that they might be called for the match as FIFA regulations oblige...But in the end we could choose other players instead of them.”
“It's ok that our communication with the players' clubs was announced but I want to make it clear that it was not an official call-up for the game,” he concluded.
Bradley and his assistants are attending Shorta v Masry and Ahly v Dakhleya on Wednesday.
Egypt are due to take on Brazil in another friendly in Cairo next February.
Seven–time African champions Egypt suffered a 4-3 defeat to Brazil in the two sides' last meeting in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.
