Bradley calls Elgabas for Egypt friendly with Brazil The dazzling start of season with Belgian side Lierse granted talented striker Mohamed Elgabas the chance to play against five-time world champions Brazil
Egypt coach Bob Bradley has decided to call striker Mohamed Elgabas, who plays for Belgian team Lierse, to participate in the anticipated friendly game against Brazil in Qatar on 14 November. Elgabas was on the spot over the past two weeks having scored a brace against Zulte 2-1, giving Lierse their first victory of the season. The former Masry player was recalled before for national duty under the helm of former coach Hassan Shehata. The Pharaohs technical staff is yet to announce the squad that will face Brazil, after the matches of fifth week of the Egyptian Premiere League later this week. Former USA coach Bradley said recently that he views the friendly against Brazil as perfect preparation for his target with the team: to book a place in the 2014 World Cup. Egypt is supposed to take on Brazil in another friendly that will be held next February in Cairo. Seven–time African champions, Egypt, suffered a 4-3 defeat to Brazil in the two sides' last meeting in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.
