A four story building in the Nile Delta governorate of Daqahliya collapsed on Friday, killing seven people and injuring three others, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported. According to Al-Ahram, civil protection forces were still searching for more survivors under the buildings, which collapsed in El-Nahda city of Mansoura. State-owned newsagency MENA reported that the building was unlicensed, citing police sources. Building collapses are commonplace in Egypt and are usually blamed on violations of building specifications, illegal extensions, and lax construction laws.
