Egypt national team assistant coach Osama Nabih announced that Roma winger Mohamed Salah is suffering from a minor injury that won't suspend him from playing in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon. "Salah's injury won't sideline him for a long time; he sustained the same ankle injury before the Chad game in the qualifiers," Nabih said in a television programme Wednesday night. Salah is unlikely to play in Roma's derby against Lazio in the Serie A on Sunday due to his injury, Italian news outlets have reported. Sky and SportMediaset said the Egyptian winger hurt his ankle and had to pull out of Wednesday's training session with Roma. "This time the injury is minor, unlike the previous injury. He will be back soon to shine again with his team," Nabih said. "Salah will be ready to travel to Gabon with Egypt's national team to participate in the 2017 African Cup of Nations," he added. The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group D alongside Ghana, Mali and Uganda for the Nations Cup, which will run from 14 January to 5 February in the Gabonese cities of Libreville, Franceville, Oyem and Port Gentil.
