Sudanese FA to question Egypt's El-Hadary in November Egyptian goalkeeper unlikely to attend hearing to investigate his dispute with club side Merreikh, claim Sudanese media reports
The players' affairs committee of the Sudanese Football Association announced on Monday that it had called Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary to investigate his complaint against Merreikh, his current club side, on 3 November. The 38-year old shot-stopper lodged a complaint with the Sudanese FA against Merreikh and sent a copy of the complaint to FIFA claiming he had not received his salary, a charge the club denies. Merreikh complained that El-Hadary had been absent from training without permission and refused to play during friendly matches. Merreikh's officials on Sunday confirmed to the committee that all players had been paid. The Sudanese FA are waiting for El-Hadary's attendance to investigate his complaint but reports in the Sudanese media claimed he won't attend because he has raised his complaint with FIFA. The Pharaohs shot-stopper announced he won't return to Merreikh, asking his agent to discuss the termination of his contract. He has endured constant problems since leaving Egyptian champions Ahly in an acrimonious manner in 2008 before also having disputes with Egyptian clubs Ismaily and Zamalek. The former Sion man played a key role in helping Egypt win three consecutive African Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/24975.aspx
