El-Merreikh lodge complaint over Egypt's El-Hadary Club report El-Hadary to Sudanese FA for unauthorised absences and his refusal to play in friendlies while goalkeeper says he won't play for the side again
Sudanese side El-Merreikh have lodged a complaint with their country's Football Association against Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary and asked them to send a copy of the complaint to FIFA due to his absence from training without permission. Magdi Shams El-Deen of the Sudanese Players' Affairs Committee revealed they will recall El-Hadary to investigate him about his team's complaint. “El-Hadary left El-Merreikh's training camp in Egypt and refused to play in friendlies, and made dreadful comments against his team in the Egyptian media,” he added. “El-Hadary has been instructed to appear before the Sudanese FA on 20 October to be questioned about his team's complaint.” The 38-year-old announced he won't return to El-Merreikh, asking his agent to discuss the termination of his contract. The Pharaohs shot-stopper has endured constant problems since leaving Egyptian champions Ahly in an acrimonious manner in 2008. He has also had disputes with Egyptian clubs Ismaily and Zamalek. The former Sion man played a key role in helping Egypt win three consecutive African Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
