El-Hodoud forward Ahmad Eid hit with four-match ban Haras El-Hodoud's international striker Ahmed Eid gets four-match ban, while Ittihad El-Shorta, Petrojet and Gouna handed an LE 50,000 fined for 50 000 EGP
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) decided on Thursday to ban Haras El-Hodoud's striker Ahmed Eid for three matches due to misconduct during the draw with Misr Lil Maqassa in the Egyptian Premier League second round. The temperamental forward, who is often criticized for failing to control his temper, was dismissed in the 20thminute but he refused to immediately go out, confronting the referee to protest his decision instead. On the other hand, Ittihad El-Shorta, Petrojet and Gouna were handed an LE 50,000 fine each for declining to attend the post-match news conference due to a conflict over sponsorship deals. The problem surfaced on the first day of the season when defending champions Ahly failed to show up during the post-match news conference. They objected to the EFA's decision to put up the logo of its sponsor, telecommunications company Vodafone, in the conference room. Etisalat, Vodafone's rivals, is the new sponsors of Ahly. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/24707.aspx
