Arab League discusses Syrian bloodshed
In a foreign ministers meeting convened over Syria, it's case of the usual noises of concern but little progress

An Arab League meeting on Syria opened on a note of skepticism and tension at the headquarters of the Arab organisatun in Cairo.
Both the League's secretary-general, Nabil El-Arabi, and Hamad bei Jassim, the foreign and prime minister of Qatar, whose country is heading this session of the Arab Foreign Ministers Council, firmly called for an end to the bloodshed in Syria
El-Arabi said he sees "no political resolution in sight for the current crisis in Syria."
During a 20-minute speech, Youssef Ahmed, the permanent representative of Syria, said that his country would decide the course of political dialogue and expressed an openess to cooperate with the League. However, any national Syrian dialogue could only convene in Syria.
