Ahly have extended the contracts of midfield duo Hossam Ashour and Abdallah El-Said for one year, the club announced on Monday. "Ashour and El-Said have agreed to extend their contracts, which have already run for two seasons, for another season," Ahly's football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz told the club's official website. "Both players are a great addition to the team. They had no conditions to renew their contracts," he added. Thirty-year-old Ashour, who came through the youth ranks of Ahly, made his debut in the Reds' first football team squad in the 2004-05 season. He quickly established himself as one of the club's key elements, guiding the team to a host of titles (eight league titles, two Egypt Cups, and five African Chmapions league titles). El-Said, 31, joined Ahly in 2011 from league rivals Ismaily and became one of the team's key stars. He helped the Cairo giants win the league title twice, two African Champions league titles and the Egyptian Super Cup three times. Both international players played a prominent part in guiding Ahly to restore the league title this season after losing it last term to rivals Zamalek. El-Said was named the best player of the 2015/2016 season according to the Egyptian Football Association.
