Premier League titleholders Al-Ahly encounter Harras Al-Hodoud in the Egyptian Cup final on Monday in Cairo. Having already won the league title last month, the Red Devils want to do the double. Ahly's coach Hossam el-Badri, who took charge of Ahly a year ago, also wants to win a third title, the African Champions League, this season. Ahly Football Committee, headed by Chairman Hassan Hamdi and Vice-President Mahmoud el-Khateeb, attended Sunday's team training to support the Red Devils, urging them on to win the Cup. The team's Football Director, Hadi Khashaba, warned that Monday's game won't be easy as Al-Hodoud are very strong opponents. Meanwhile, Al-Hodoud's coach Tareq el-Ashri has extended his contract with the club, ending the peculation about his future. After guiding Al-Hodoud to the Egyptian Cup final, el-Ashri backed down on his initial decision to leave the Alexandrian outfit. "I met with the board and finally decided to extend my contract and stay on for next season," he says. "I've been promised enough funds to make new signings, while keeping the key players." El-Ashri, who was on brink of joining Arab Contractors, handed in his resignation midway through the league campaign, but was persuaded to stay on. The 42-year-old coach managed to overcome Al-Hodoud's poor start to the season, guiding them to a sixth place finish in the league table, after an impressive run of results.
