Ghana's striker Asamoah Gyan rubbishes reports that playing in the United Arab Emirates League will affect his international level

Asamoah Gyan revealed Friday that his international level with Ghana won't be affected by his joining to United Arab Emirates' side Al-Ain, as he is hoping to bang in the goals when the league begins this weekend.
The 25-year-old striker hinted that he is concentrating on keeping his shape ahead of the 2012 African Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
"People criticised a lot but I do my thing. I understand why they would but life goes on. There will be many comments but I am focused." Gyan said.
"I have no worries at all. I play in UAE but I came back to score for Ghana in the Nations Cup qualifiers. If I relax then I will lose my form but I won't do that," he added.
Asamoah Gyan left Sunderland, moving to the Middle East on a money-spinning season-long loan agreement, but his former team coach Steve Bruce expressed frustration at the striker's decision to join Al-Ain on a one-year loan contract.
