Ahly missing key players ahead of Ivory Coast trip

Ahly caretaker coach Osama Orabi will do without a number of key players when the team travel to Ivory Coast to face ASEC in the two sides' final game in the CAF Champions League group stage on Wednesday.
The Cairo giants will miss striker Emad Meteb due to his final high schools exams, while attacking midfielder Abdalla El-Saied and defender Ahmed Hegazy won't be travelling to Ivory Coast due to injuries.
In addition, midfielder Saleh Gomaa is still out of the squad as he has yet to meet the tactician's expectations.
Ahly's coach Martin Jol resigned from his post on Thursday, days after the club's poor results in the Egypt Cup and the CAF Champions League, ending speculations surrounding his future with the Red Devils.
The club agreed to an early cancellation of the Dutchman's contract, which was due to run until next summer.
Ahly will end its African campaign on the 24th of this month with an away clash against Ivorian side ASEC.
