Iranian Babak Anvari's 'Under the Shadow' wins major award at Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival
Written and directed by Babak Anvari as his directorial debut, 'Under the Shadow' won the Narcisse Award for best feature film

Babak Anvari's 'Under the Shadow' is an Iran/Jordan/Qatar/UK production that premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
The film participated at the 16th Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (1-9 July, Switzerland) where it won the main award, the Narcisse Award for Best Feature Film.
According to the movies site IMDb, the film is about a mother and daughter who struggle to cope with the terrors of post-revolution, wartorn Tehran of the 1980s. Then a mysterious evil begins to haunt their home.
Babak Anvari is a young Iranian filmmaker and writer who has previously directed shorts, such as Solitary (2007) and Two & Two (2011), the latter winning a BAFTA film award.
The Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival is a major Swiss international festival. In it's 16th edition, over 150 films were screened from 42 countries.
