Minister of Culture Emad Abou Ghazi has appointed Salah El-Meleigy as the new head of the fine arts sector.
El-Meleigy has worked in the fine arts sector before, presiding over the Graphic Design Centre in 15 May City and has managed the Central Department for Museums and Galleries between 2006 and 2009.
El-Meleigy works as a professor in the graphics section at the Fine Arts University and has held several solo and joint exhibitions locally and internationally. He has won many awards, including the award for the 1994 Cairo Biennale and the bronze award for the biennale in Serbia and Montenegro in 2001.
