Clemente announces Cameroon squad for RD Congo decider
Samuel Eto'o and Alexandre Song in, Assou-Ekotto still on the sidelines
Published in Ahram Online on 26 - 09 - 2011

Cameroon coach Javier Clemente has announced his 21-man list for the clash with RD Congo in the final and crucial African Cup of Nations qualifier on 9 October.
The Spanish tactician continued to ignore on-form Tottenham midfielder Benoit Assou-Ekotto for disciplinary reasons, as he had turned down a call to join the Indomitable Lions earlier this year.
Meanwhile keeper Guy Roland Ndy Assembe and defender Aurelien Chedjou have been ruled out from the RD Congo trip because of injury and have been replaced by U-23 keeper Effala Konguep and Gaziantepspor defender Daniel Nounkeu.
The Indomitable Lions, who are currently on eight points, must avoid defeat when they face the Leopards, currently on seven points, in Kinshasa in order to keep the second spot of the group – behind Senegal who have already secured the top spot with 13 points - and maintain their chances of reaching the finals of the African Cup of Nations 2012 as one of the best two runners-up of the qualifiers.
