A group of Syrian and Palestinian activistsgathered outside the Arab League headquarters in Cairo on Friday to show solidarity with the Syrian revolution and the Palestinian statehood bid. Tens of protesters waving Egyptian, Palestinian and Syrian flags, demanded the fall the Assad regime and recognition of a Palestinian state. Protesters chanted “Down with Obama” and “Down with America and Israel.” Moreover, protesters called on Nabil Al-Arabi, Secretary General of the Arab League, to support all the Arab revolutions and not to betray the Arabs by doing otherwise. This came after the Syrian regime had detained around 2500 protesters.
