Ahly ease into Egypt Cup round of 16
With the help of three new arrivals, Ahly ease into the Egypt Cup round of 16 after crushing second-division side Kima Aswan 4-0 on Tuesday

Egyptian champions Ahly cruised into the Egypt Cup's last 16 with a comprehensive and easy 4-0 win over second-division side Kima Aswan at Cairo Stadium on Tuesday.
Playmaker Walid Soliman scored his first goal after joining from ENPPI, putting Ahly in front early in the game, before midfielder Shehab Ahmed extended the lead a few minutes before the interval.
Defender Mohamed Naguib and forward El-Sayed Hamdy, who also arrived this summer, notched up their maiden goals for Ahly in the second half to complete the rout.
The Egypt Cup was resumed on Tuesday following a lengthy and obligatory stoppage following January's popular uprising. The EFA initially considered calling off Egypt's secondary competition but eventually decided to complete it.
Ahly, the competition's winners with 35 titles under their belt, faced no resistance from their lowly opponents, who struggled to complete two successive passes throughout the match.
Soliman could have opened the scoring after two minutes when he latched onto a defence-splitting pass from veteran playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika to break clear of his marker. His effort was blocked by the keeper but he made amends in the ninth minute to grab the lead.
He exchanged passes with striker Mohamed Fadl in the area before sending a low shot into the bottom corner of the net from a tight angle.
Central midfielder Shehab, who made a rare start under coach Manuel Jose although he was a regular starter prior to the Portuguese coach's arrival, doubled Ahly's lead three minutes before the break.
He fired a powerful shot home from inside the area after Fadl laid off the ball to him, despite being under pressure.
In a rare foray, Kima Aswan had a goal correctly ruled offside in the 64th minute.
Ahly soon regained their control, adding a third goal in the 72nd minute after defender Naguib, who joined from Ittihad El-Shorta in the off season, sent a superb glancing header past the keeper following a corner.
Fellow new signing Hamdy put the icing on the cake four minutes later with a simple close-range header after an initial effort from the unlucky Fadl struck the post.
Despite the comfortable win, Jose appeared furious on the touchline after Algerian playmaker Amir Sayoud, a second-half substitute, wasted a penalty in bizarre fashion.
He tried to feint as he was about to kick the ball but slipped instead to send a weak shot that was easily collected by the keeper. He was also shown a yellow card for stopping before taking the penalty.
