Hull City's offer for El-Hadary rejected by Merreikh
Sudanese giants El-Merreikh turn down an offer from Hull City to sign goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary on a short-term loan

Essam El-Hadary's hope to join Hull City was dealt a major blow on Monday after Sudanese giants El-Merreikh said they intended to keep hold of the veteran goalkeeper.
The Egypt custodian is undergoing a trial at Hull, where fellow Egyptian Amr Zaki spent a brief loan spell in 2010, but he might not be able to complete a move to the English second-division side due to El-Merreikh's reluctance to offload him.
El-Hadary joined El-Merreikh last January after ending a six-month stint with Cairo outfit Zamalek but could not settle in.
“The move is on the verge of collapse after El-Merreikh turned down the offer of Hull to sign El-Hadary on a four-month loan deal for a fee they declined to disclose,” read a statement on the 39-year-old keeper's official website.
“El-Merreikh did not accept the money offered by Hull and said they needed to hold onto El-Hadary.
“Hull are likely to pull the plug on the deal because they are not ready to make a higher offer. El-Merreikh are not willing to negotiate either.”
In an interview with Ahram Online in May, the former Ahly man, who is widely regarded as the best keeper in Egypt's history, said he was still determined to experience European football again, having played for Swiss side Sion few years ago.
He was on the brink of joining Maqassa this summer but the Egyptian Premier League club eventually opted against signing him for no apparent reason, with reports suggesting that his constant disciplinary problems prompted them to change their mind.
El-Hadary looked as solid as ever during Egypt's goalless draw at home to South Africa in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in June, suggesting that he is nowhere near retirement.
