Egypt retain their 34th place in FIFA's monthly ranking for August despite not playing any game

African champions Egypt, who are embarking on a rebuilding process, have kept their 34th place in FIFA's monthly ranking.
The Pharaohs have not played any game since a goalless draw at home to South Africa in June led to the departure of former coach Hassan Shehata, who took over at Cairo giants Zamalek afterwards.
Egypt still lead Arab teams in FIFA ranking, ahead of North African rivals Algeria (46), Tunisia (57) and Morocco (61).
They lie second in African teams ranking, 19 spots behind Ivory Coast who are 15th.
After a series of disappointing results, the Egyptian national team has continued to fall in rank, having once been in the top ten.
Egypt, who virtually lost hopes of defending their African Nations Cup title in next year's edition in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, are still coach-less.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said recently that Hany Ramzy, coach of the national Olympic team, would preside over the remaining Nations Cup qualifiers against Niger and Sierra Leone.
