Zamalek have made a $100,000 offer to sign Benin striker Razak Omotoyossi from Swedish side Syrianska FC, the Cairo giants said on Sunday.
“The club have today sent a fax to Syrianska to acquire the services of Omotoyossi for $100,000,” Zamalek said in a brief statement on their official website.
Should Zamalek wrap up the deal, Omotoyossi would be the second striker to join them in the close season following the arrival of Maqassa's Hussein Hamdy. The club also boast three other frontmen in Amr Zaki, Mido and Ahmed Gaafar.
Omotoyossi has already sat down with Zamalek coach Hassan Shehata to discuss a possible move after arriving in Cairo last week.
The nomadic striker, who was born in Nigeria, has played for handful of clubs since beginning his career in 2004, including Swedish side Helsingborgs, French outfit Metz and Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia.
The 25-year-old, who took part in the 2008 African Cup of Nations, is also a key member of Benin's squad. He scored 18 goals with his national team.
Meanwhile, Zamalek have handed a trial to Togolese midfielder Sapol Mani, who terminated his contract with Libya's Al-Ittihad due to the ongoing rebellion against Muammar Gaddafi's rule.
The White Knights are also seeking to reinforce their shaky backline as they made an offer to sign versatile defender Salah Soliman from Ghazl Mahalla for LE 2.5 million.
