Midfielder Mohamed Shawky and defender Ahmed El-Sayed will be available for Ahly's match against Mouloudia Alger, in the second leg of the CAF Champions League group stage on 28 August, said the Cairo giants' official website on Wednesday.
“Shawky and El-Sayed have totally recovered and will be ready to play against Mouloudia,” Ahly's doctor, Walid Abdel-Baky explained.
Shawky was suffering from a injury to his foot, incurred during Ahly's 2-0 win over Mouloudia in the first leg in Cairo last Friday, the match that El-Sayed had missed because of a muscle injury.
The return of Shawky and El-Sayed will be a great relief for Ahly coach Manuel Jose Da Silva, who will be already be missing the injured midfielder Mohamed Barakat, along with Ahmed Fathy and Hossam Ghaly, who are both suspended.
The Red Devils will have to beat Mouloudia in order to ensure their qualification for the coming round. The match will be a good opportunity for Ahly's summer signings, such as defender Mohamed Naguib, striker Sayed Hamdy and playmaker Walid Soliman, to prove their worth.
The six-time African champions, Ahly, are now second in Group B with four points, one point behind joint leaders Wydad and Esperance.
