Egypt's Trezeguet suffers from language barrier with Anderlecht, says coach Anderlecht coach praises Egypt's midfielder Trezeguet but says a language barrier impedes his participation with the team
Anderlecht coach Besnik Hasi revealed that the language barrier between him and Egyptian midfielder Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan is problematic, despite the player's superb performance with the team. Trezeguet, 21, made his full debut for Anderlecht in the 2-0 away Pro League defeat to Gent last January. He has last featured for Anderlecht in the 2-1 home win over Westerlo in December last year, having been sidelined for two months due to an injured shoulder. "Trezeguet is a talented player but he lacks language," Hasi said a head of his side's game against Olympiacos in the Europa league on Thursday. "He is a diligent player and trains well with us so I gave him a chance against Gent, but he rarely understands what we say," he added. "Dealing with him is very difficult because of the language barrier that affected his appearance with the team in the previous games," the Albanian coach said. The Egyptian winger, nicknamed Trezeguet due to his resemblance to former France striker David Trezeguet, joined Anderlecht on a season-long loan from Cairo giants Ahly last summer. Trezeguet, a product of Ahly's youth academy, scored five goals and created six others in 31 Premier League appearances last season when the Red Devils finished second behind arch-rivals and winners Zamalek.
