The cabinet has released a list of new governors recently appointed by the government. Eleven new governors were appointed, one transfered, with three deputy governors also appointed. Major General Adel Labib is appointed governor of Qena. Major General Tarek Al-Mahdy is appointed governor of New Valley (Al-Wadi Al-Gedid). Major General Said El-Borai is appointed governor of Assiut. Counselor Maher El-Zaher Baibers is appointed governor of Beni Sueif. Major General Salah El-Madawy is appointed governor of Daqahlia. Osama El-Fooli is appointed governor of Alexandria. Mohamed Mokhtar El-Mahlawy is appointed governor of Beheira Major General Sarag El-Din Al-Rouby is appointed governor of Minya Azazi Ali Azazi is appointed governor of Sharqiya Ahmed Ali Ahmed is appointed governor of Fayoum Ambassador Ezzat Mohamed Saad is appointed governor of Luxor Mohamed Abdel Kader is appointed governor of Gharbiya. Major General Tarek El-Mahdy, a member of ruling Supreme Council for the Armed Forces (SCAF), was appointed as supervisor for the Egyptian Television and Radio building after the ouster of former president Hosni Mubarak. Major GeneralAdel Labib used to be the governor of Qena before being appointed governor of Alexandria. He resigned with the revolution. Labib is reportedly popular in Qena. Osama El-Fooli was the former dean of the law school at the University of Alexandria. Major General Said El-Bora was assistant of the former 6th of October governor while major General Salah El-Madawy used to be the deputy governor of the northern zone of Cairo. Mohamed Mokhtar El-Mahalwy used to be deputy governor of the eastern zone of Cairo. Judge Mohamed Abdel Kader used to be governor of Sharkia before being transferred to Gharbia. Major General Sarag El-Din Al-Rouby used to head Interpol in Egypt (1993 to 1999) while Azazi Ali Azazi was the editor-in-chief of the Nasserite Karma newspaper.
