The Military trail has again delayedMonday the case of the 18 Zamalek fans detained during Degla match hooliganism to next Thursday.
Tens of Zamalek hardcore fans, Ultras White Knights (UWK) protested in front of the military court in Nasr CityMonday morning to support their fellow fans as they did last Thursday.
Eighteen members of the UWK were arrested during for riots during the 1-1 Wadi Degla draw on 7 July when the Whites lost their bid for their first Egyptian Premier League title since 2004.
“Brothers in blood, It's time to apply our slogan,” the UWK Facebook page stated in a note calling for the protest.
When the military prosecution decided to release the 18 Zamalek supporters on LE3,000 bail each, the UWK collected the funds quickly through a campaign endorsed by writer and TV host, Omar Taher.
The scene of hooliganism featured angry fans hurling stones and bottles at policemen, two of whom were injured as clashes continued outside the stadium amid growing tensions in domestic football.
Zamalek finished second this season after archrivals Ahly, who claimed their seventh successive title.
