Zamalek star striker Mido will support members of the club's ultras group, known as the White Knights, when they face charges of violence before a military court of law on Thursday. A number of Zamalek supporters have been detained since the team's penultimate league game at home against Wadi Degla on July 7; the day which saw Ahli crowned champions at the expense of the Whites. As Ahli eased to a thumping 5-1 victory at Arab Contractors, Zamalek's 1-1 home draw with Degla was marred by violence from the home supporters. The group of supporters, who were angry after learning that their arch-rivals are in front, caused several damages at Cairo Stadium injuring a couple of police officers in the process. Zamalek said on their website that a number of club officials, along with Mido, are urging authorities to release the fans in custody ahead of Thursday's trial. The club also confirmed that they will begin the process of covering the damages caused at the stadium by their fans.
