High judicial authority shelves interrogations of judges critical of military trials
Two judges critical of military trials of civilians had no intention to insult the military judiciary

The higher council of the judiciary has decided to halt investigations of two of the judges accused of insulting the military judiciary.
The announcement came on Saturday that the two judges, Alaa Shawky and Hassan El-Naggar, did not intend to insult the military judiciary.
The minister of justice had summoned the judges for questioning on the accusation that they released "inflammatory statements" to the media without authorization.
While speaking to Al-Jazeera Mubasher TV, Hassan El-Naggar, Alaa Shawki and Ashraf Nada voiced dissatisfaction over military trials for civilians, and called on authorities to “purify” the judiciary in Egypt.
