Acting Asia football boss says 'revolution' needed The acting head of the Asian Football Confederation says management of the game in Asia needs a "revolution"
The acting head of the Asian Football Confederation says management of the game in Asia needs a "revolution" Zhang Jilong's comments come after regular AFC head Mohamed bin Hammam was suspended by FIFA while bribery allegations against him are investigated. Zhang, who was appointed acting AFC chief Sunday, told Chinese state broadcaster CCTV that the environment for football in Asia was "not that healthy." He said a "revolution" was needed to reform the current system and make it more transparent and fair. The 59-year-old Zhang has proven himself an astute political player and is credited with helping ease China's way to the 2002 World Cup by convincing FIFA to change its rules for Asian zone qualifiers.
