Troubled Ahly without Ebe, El-Sayed against Tetouan in Champions League Coach Juan Garrido will have to do without striker Peter Ebimobowei and defender Hussein El-Sayed on Saturday
Ahly coach Juan Garrido will have to do without Nigerian striker Peter Ebimobowei and defender Hussein El-Sayed in Saturday's home clash against Moghreb Tetouan in the second-leg of the CAF Champions League last 16. "El-Sayed suffered a clavicle injury and will be out for 3-4 weeks for physiotherapy and rehabilitation," the club's doctor Khaled Mahmoud stated to their website Wednesday. The 21-year-old Nigerian, Ebe, who underwent medical scans for his hamstring injury, is confirmed to miss the crucial game too. The first leg ended with a 0-1 defeat in Saniat Rmel Stadium in Tetouan by Mouhcine Iajour's free-kick goal. No tolerance is expected for the under-fire Spanish coach if the Egyptian giants fail in their bid for their ninth Champions League title, despite the board's current backing. Garrido is already under heavy criticism as the winner of eight successive Egyptian Premier League is likely to lose the current championship, being third in the table, 11 points behind arch-rivals Zamalek who are in the driving seat. Ahly have officially asked the crowd, who are banned from Egyptian stadiums for security troubles, to attend Thursday's training session in attempt to boost the players' morale.
