Zamalek boss Ferreira criticises Cuper over Egypt's training camp Zamalek's manager says Egypt's coach is the man to blame for his side's poor performance against Smouha in a League game on Tuesday
Zamalek coach Jesualdo Ferreira criticised Egypt's Argentinean boss Hector Cuper for holding a "needless" training camp that he believes has affected his players' display in a laboured 1-0 Egyptian Premier League win over Smouha on Tuesday. Cuper called up ten players from Zamalek in a three-day training camp without playing any games and Ferriera believes that this camp had exhausted his players. The White Knights claimed a hard-earned win over Smouha thanks to a late goal from in-form playmaker Ayman Hefni, who converted a penalty seven minutes from time. Tuesday's win cemented Zamalek's place at the top of the League table with 51 points, seven clear of nearest challengers ENPPI. '' Egypt's latest training camp is the main reason for my side's poor performance against Smouha," Ferreira told a post-match news conference on Tuesday. "The camp was needless as the Egyptian national teamdidn't play any matches. The players returned to the club very exhausted. I can't understand why they had held this camp. "I am not against the national team. I want all my players to be called up to Egypt's squad but I just want more coordination between Egypt's coach and the clubs," he added.
