Egypt set to resume football activities after mourning for Zamalek fans

Egyptianfootball competitions are set to resume behind close doors next month after theCairo Air Defense Stadium disasterhalted all football activities over two weeks ago, Egypt's cabinet announced on Wednesday.
After discussions between the cabinet and the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), the former decided to form a committee consisting of representitives of the interior and sports ministries to instigate the necessary procedures to resume competitions after 40 days of mourning, the Ahram Arabic gate reported.
The Egyptian Premier League as well as the rest of the football competitions have been frozen since 8 February when 20 Zamalek supporters were killed when police forces used teargas to disperse crowds attempting to enter Cairo's Air Defence Stadium ahead of a league match with ENPPI.
Most of the Premier League games have been played behind closed doors since over 70 Ahly fans were killed in February 2012 after being attacked by Masry fans in Port Said stadium after a league game.
