The Cairo side could not hold onto their slender 37-36 lead in the dying seconds as Al-Sadd, who were strengthened with 12 foreign players, snatched a draw just before the final whistle Zamalek, who slumped to a 33-25 loss to title holders Ciudad Real in the tournament's opener, lie third in their group with a single point while Al-Sadd are second on three points. The group's fate will be decided on Monday when Zamalek, who face an uphill struggle to advance, play against lowly Southern Stars.Earlier in the day, Ciudad Real thrashed Australia's Southern Stars 45-17. The winners and the runners-up of the two groups will qualify for the Super Globe semifinals.
