Ecuadorian striker Carlos Tenorio's brace guided Al-Sadd to a 2-1 over Al-Gharrafa in the Qatari Crown Prince Cup final. The Ecuadorian international opened the scoring from the spot five minutes before halftime, but Gharrafa's Bahraini striker Alaa Hubail equalized in the 67th minute. Ecuador's top scorer in the 2006 World Cup, Tenorio, won the game for Sadd ten minutes from time. The game was tense with both teams sharing six yellow cards in the last 40 minutes. Al-Sadd completed the Qatari double after being crowned league champions, as they lead second-placed Gharrafa by an unattainable 12 points.
