Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister has said he expects Iraqi oil production to reach 3 billion barrels per day by the end of 2011. Deputy PM Hussein al-Shahristani, who is responsible for Iraq's energy sector, told a press conference that the country is currently producing 2.7 million barrels per day (bdp) and exporting 2.1m bdp. He added production will hit 3 billion bpd by the year's end.
