'We played a great game against Ivory-coast' : Cameroon's Aboubakar The Cameroonian striker is happy after his impressive performance against Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar expressed his delight at scoring twice in his side's 4-1 victory over Ivory Coast on Wednesday. Cameroon thrashed Ivory Coast 4-1 in their second Group D game on Wednesday. "I am very happy with my two goals against Ivory Coast," Aboubakar told Camfoot on Thursday. "We played a great game on Wednesday. Beating a great team like Ivory Coast means a lot for our young team.” After their disappointing World Cup campaign where they were eliminated from the first round, German coach Volker Finke decided to shuffle his squad to include several young players. "We are all young players, we speak the same language and we all came to prove that we are capable to wear the shirt of our country," Aboubakar said. Despite their two wins in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Porto striker believes that their qualification to next year's African tournament should not be taken as a guarantee since four games still remain. Cameroon are leading Group D with six points, three points ahead of second placed DR Congo and Ivory Coast who each have three points. "We have not qualified yet to the Africa Cup of Nations, in a tough group like our group we have to be careful," he said. "We have to concentrate on the four remaining games and we have to respect our opponents," the striker concluded.
