Shoot to kill orders recording played as evidence against El-Adly, Cairo
A voice recording is revealed of the former head of Egypt's central security, giving orders to use live ammunition to kill peaceful protesters in the wake of the revolution

According to the Fact-Finding Committee report on the killing of protesters on 28 January and during the revolution in Egypt, a CD recording of orders to use live ammunition is presented to the court.
The CD was destroyed in cover-up efforts, however, the damaged recording is of Ahmed Ramzy, the former head of central security giving orders to his colleagues to use live ammunition to kill protesters, following the orders of the former Minister of Interior Habib El-Adly.
In addition to the CD, the official written records of orders and operations show that Egypt's National Security forces where equipped with live ammunition during those days and were given orders to shoot.
Moreover, the snipers, which spread on buildings in the Tahrir area - including the ministry of interior itself - and killed protesters is one of the main evidences against El-Adly. These kinds of forces are not deployed without the orders of the minister of interior.
Habib El-Adly occupied the post of minister of interior for 20 years. He was not loved by many Egyptians and is the first minister to be sent to trial.
