Frank Lampard has retired from England's national team ahead of qualifying for the 2016 European Championship. Since making his England debut in 1999, the 36-year-old Lampard has scored 29 goals in 106 appearances, with his last appearance coming at the World Cup in June. The midfielder, who never won a trophy with England, says ''it was a tough decision for me to make, which is why I have given it so much thought since the World Cup.'' Lampard is currently on loan at Manchester City from partner club New York City FC. He was released by Chelsea at the end of last season.
