Two people were killed in an attack targeting a police officer near his home in the restive Sinai Peninsula, state news agency MENA reported early Saturday. Armed assailants shot at the officer in his car outside his home in the North Sinai city of Al-Arish. Two men accompanying the officer were killed while he survived unscathed. Elsewhere in the city, a shootout took place between unknown gunmen and security forces near the western entrance of the town, leaving no casualties, MENA said.
