Egypt coach includes Ahly, Zamalek players ahead of Chile friendly
Pharaoh's coach Shawky Gharib names players from two Cairo giants who will be on the 27-man squad for two upcoming international friendlies
Published in Ahram Online on 26 - 05 - 2014

Egypt coach Shawky Gharib has included eight players from Ahly and Zamalek in his squad that will take on Chile and Jamaica in friendly games on 30 May and 4 June respectively.
Gharib called keeper Sherif Ekramy, defenders Ahmed Fathi and Rami Rabia and striker Amr Gamal from Ahly and left-back Mohamed Abdel-Shafy, midfielders Omar Gaber, Moemen Zakareya and Hazem Emam from Zamalek.
The 55-year old tactician has already announced a 27-man list for the international friendlies but has delayed naming players from the two Cairo giants until after their weekend fixtures in the African club competitions.
The team has already started training. Ahly players, who have been away to Etoile du Sahel, are expected to join on Tuesday.
Gharib, who took over last November from American coach Bob Bradley, is seeking to help the Pharaohs qualify for their first African Cup of Nations since 2010 as they missed the past two editions in 2012 and 2013.
It won't be an easy challenge as the seven-time African champions have been placed in the death group of qualifiers alongside Senegal and Tunisia.
