Pro-Mohamed Morsi protesters open fire on security forces during Friday protests in a south Cairo neighbourhood

Three police personnel were injured on Friday when security forces dispersed a protest for Egypt's ousted president Mohamed Morsi in Cairo's Helwan district, according to a statement from the interior ministry.
The pro-Morsi protesters had gathered in Ezbat Al-Walda in Helwan when security forces arrived and dispersed them, causing some of the protesters to open fire at three policemen – conscript Abdel-Aziz Mohamed and captains Haitham Singer and Ahmed Abdel-Maksoud, said the ministry's statement, published on its official Facebook page.
Fridayprotests have been common sinceMorsi'souster last July, even though the Egyptian authorities issued a law in November criminalising unauthorised public demonstrations.
Also on Friday, two pro-Morsi protesters were killed by live ammunition and another three were injured in Alexandria governorate during clashes with angry locals. Security forces dispersed the Alexandria protests, arresting 27.
Earlier in the day,two suicide attacksin South Sinai targeted a checkpoint and a tour bus, leaving one conscript dead and nine others injured.
In Cairo, a low-ranking police officer waskilledand four other security personnel were injured in a bomb blast targeting a traffic checkpoint in the Heliopolis district.
