OSLO: Amr Moussa, former Secretary-General of the Arab League and presidential hopeful, completely denied that he supported the formation of the civil advisory council. Moussa rejected the advisory council because it would consist of two or three members appointed by the military council. He also said that two months ago he suggested including civilian participation with the military rule in Egypt, similar to the role of the civil advisory council. Moussa's suggestion was to form an advisory council of 50 members to help the military council and discuss laws and decisions. He said he is convinced that the advisory council is a step to calm the situation in Egypt. Moussa added that the advisory council's points of views, advice, and decisions must be taken seriously. Moussa also said that participating in decision-making with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces is important. Regarding the upcoming People's Assembly, Moussa said the new parliament's role would be limited to the constitutional announcement. Moussa said the incoming Egyptian president must unify all political trends that appeared recently in Egypt. Moussa was visiting Oslo in order to participate in Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony.
