The Salafi al-Nour Party affirmed that it would not withdraw any of its candidates from the second phase of the parliamentary elections scheduled to begin Dec. 14. The party said that it aims to take the majority of the seats to ensure that the second article of the constitution will remain unchanged. Article 2 provides that Islamic Sharia is the main source of all legislation. The party's secretariat denied that Sayed Regab, the party's candidate in the district covering the Giza neighborhoods of Dokki, Imbaba, and Agouza, withdrew for another candidate. The party affirmed that it would not withdraw any candidate for the sake of another party's candidate. Regab's supporters distributed publications and posters to promote their candidate Friday.
