The Egyptian Center for Women's Rights (ECWR) described the new ministerial cabinet formed by newly appointed Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri as "disappointing." ECWR made this statement issued by the center considering the lengthy amount of time it took to form the government and the delays in forming it and announcing the new cabinet contains only three female ministers in a 29 ministry cabinet. The statement said the cabinet formation proved women are not being allowed into positions of power and decision-making, which was also the case during the appointment of governors. The statement called into question the government of national salvation, which cannot achieve national salvation without the effective participation of women in decision-making and achieving the demands of the Egyptian January 25 Revolution, in which women fought alongside men in Tahrir Square. The statement questioned why no women were given vital ministries such as in the ministries of health, education or media, despite the fact that these ministries contain a large number of women.
