Egyptians abroad started voting in the second phase of the parliamentary elections after submitting their ballot papers on the Supreme Electoral Commission (SEC) website, starting yesterday December 7 at midnight. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Amr Roshdy stated all Egyptian embassies, in addition to 11 consulates, will receive the ballot envelopes from citizens via e-mail or by going to embassies or the consulates starting today December 8 until Monday December 12. He added the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Amr ordered working hours in embassies and consulates should start from 9:00 A.M. until midnight to give all citizens an opportunity to participate in the elections. He pointed out the citizens wouldn't have been able to print the voting papers and send them to the embassies if there hadn't been coordination between the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Center of Decision Making Support in the Ministerial Council, which praised the center's efforts and cooperation in simplifying the electoral process. It is decided after closing the ballot boxes, embassies and consulates will immediately start the voting count in the presence of Egyptian communities and then send the results to the operation room in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry will gather the votes and transfer them to the SEC to add them to the votes here. Arabic here
