CAIRO: Recently appointed Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri promised today to review the positions of the Egyptian press leadership. The press institutions will be included among the Cabinet's priorities and shifts might take place, said Ganzouri. Ganzouri's government swore their oaths of office before Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, head of Egypt's ruling military council, on Wednesday's afternoon. Tantawi held a closed meeting with the government after the oaths were sworn. The new government includes Mohamed Ibrahim as the new Minister of Interior. Ibrahim succeeds Mansour el-Issawy. Three new ministries have been added, including the Ministry of Antiquities, which has been added and removed multiples times in recent cabinet reshuffles. Ganzouri is expected to start his tasks on Thursday or Saturday, as initial discussions succeeded with protesters staging a sit-in outside the council of ministries. Around 150 protesters were convinced to end their sit-in and negotiations are being held with the others.
