ALEXANDRIA, Egypt: The Future Studies Unit of the Alexandrian Library is preparing a database for Islamic movements and organizations worldwide as a part of its role to spread knowledge and to enrich Egypt's cultural life. The project was drafted by prominent Islamic researcher Hossam Tamam aiming to document the move of political Islam, which the entire world witnessed during the recent decades. It will focus on groups that worked in Islamic preaching, then involved in political life under different slogans and names. The database will monitor Islamic parties, movements and organization, aiming to document the different information about them, including their establishment, founders, historic leaders, doctrines, legal position and their role in political life.
