The governorate of Port Said is witnessing a security alert on an unprecedented scale from civil police forces and military forces, pressured to arrest the criminals who commit the kidnapping in the governorate. Residents of Port Said are terrorized, especially after footballer Mohamed Shawky's brother, Ayman Shawky, was kidnapped with his cousin by unknown criminals, who asked for a million EGP as ransom. The kidnappings spread out lately in different Egyptian governorates because of the lack of security. Rich families and businessmen were threatened of kidnapping their relatives and even policemen themselves. Four anonymous criminals used a black car without license plates to kidnapp Egyptian footballer Mohamed Shawky's brother and cousin. The information varied regarding the kidnapping; sources said the two victims were kidnapped because of a family dispute over a piece of land, while other sources said the kidnappers asked for a million EGP as ransom. Port Said security forces are intensifying their efforts to arrest the criminals. In a related story, a transportation official in al-Feel Company for marine services Abdel Salam al-Badaweehi was kidnapped while driving his car to pick up his brother from Cairo Airport. The kidnappers asked for 2 million EGP as ransom or they will cut off the victim's head. A security force in the New Valley governorate managed to free two policemen who were kidnapped, taken to a remote place, tortured and forced to sign trust receipts. In the governorate of Dakahlia, security forces managed to free a businessman who was kidnapped by eight criminals. The security forces only managed to free the hostage without arresting the criminals who escaped. Those kidnapped do not include just businessmen and rich families, since a barber's son was kidnapped in Alexandria and the kidnappers asked for 250,000 EGP as ransom. Security forces conducted investigations in North Sinai since a citizen was kidnapped while driving his car, which was found empty and its tires with bullet holes. Security forces expected the victim was kidnapped over financial disputes.
