CAIRO: An emergency meeting with the armed forces operations and deputy investigator for supply is scheduled soon, reported Ahmed Ghorab, the head of the Petrogas Company. The meeting is designed to formulate a new plan to secure access to butane reserves after the storage reserves were stolen and sold on the black market. “There is coordination between the deputy investigator and the army to develop a security planto protect butane stock from thieves and thugs,” Ghorab said. He also denied any deficiencies in the gas cylinders, underlining the fact that the company is still pumping 1.2 million cylinders daily. “The company and the General Institute of Petroleum are committed to providing the necessary butane to the market,” Ghorab said. “There are additional amounts pumped, too, satisfying other market needs.” “The importing process is ongoing and the additional butane gas will continue to be pumped,” he added.
