PORT SAID, Egypt: People in Port Said demonstrated during midnight outside the security directorate in protest against the kidnap of a girl from Salah Salem Street in front of the Civil Defense Directorate. This is the third kidnapping case, including the kidnapping of Egyptian footballer Mohamed Shawqy's brother yesterday. A driver names Abdel Salam al-Bedwehy was also kidnapped. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of 2 million EGP (U.S. $340,000). People are angry over the kidnappings and are calling for removing Port Said's security director and the Ministry of Interior after the increase in kidnappings. The spike has caused a panic among the people.
