Al-Qaradawi: Islamic trend is able to lead Egypt after NDP
Published in Youm7 on 02 - 12 - 2011

CAIRO: Head of World Federation for Muslim Scholars Yousuf al-Qaradawi sent a message to Muslim Brotherhood (MB). Al-Qaradawi is a member in the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the political wing of the MB, which gained the lead in the first round of the parliamentary elections in nine Egyptians governorates.
“The MB had good positions during the Egyptian January 25 Revolution and after the revolution, they are not selfish and think only for themselves but for the entire country,” Al-Qaradawi wrote about the MB on his Facebook page. “The Islamic trend is the only qualified trend capable of leadership and responsibility, after former members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) failed.”
“Yes, the MB is the base of the Islamic trend in Egypt. The MB group with the Salafi trend, some Al-Azhar scholars, some preachers and religious associations represent the Islamic trend in Egypt”, Qaradawi said.
He stressed during these days Egypt only needs real scholars who understand the Sharia. He said these scholars shouldn't rush to apply provisions before Egypt has fully learned and worked under Sharia. They should give adequate opportunity for phased implementation in many things, he added.
Qaradawi called upon the MB to continue on their route and to vote for trustworthy people who have experience, in order to achieve their target.
