CAIRO: Results of the parliamentary election in Cairo's first district, Shubra, revealed the Freedom and Justice Party gained 40 percent of votes, obtaining 275,144 votes, while the Egyptian Bloc gained 30 percent, obtaining 164,530 votes. Al-Nour Salafi Party gained 15 percent of votes, obtaining 103,877 votes. A runoff round is scheduled between John Talaat, Egyptian Bloc candidate, and Fahmy Abdou, Freedom and Justice Party candidate, on the professional seat. There will also be a runoff round for the workers seat in Shoubra between Osama Moghazy, Egyptian Bloc candidate, and Kamal al-Mahdy, Freedom and Justice Party candidate.
